Pigeonwing Dance returns to the stage this April with the NYC premiere of Rising — an evening-length work exploring humanity's connection to Earth's oceans. Performed live alongside the GRAMMY®-nominated Neave Trio, with choreography by Gabrielle Lamb and an original score by composer Robert Sirota, Rising weaves movement, music, and the voices of oceanographer Curtis Ebbesmeyer and naturalist Craig Foster into a meditation on water, climate, and our place in the natural world.
Join us at Baruch Performing Arts Center on April 23, 24, and 25 at 7PM.
Rising" premiered September 2024 at Oregon State University's College of Earth, Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences. It was made possible by a commissioning grant from the O'Donnell-Green Music and Dance Foundation, with additional support from Ballet Vero Beach, the Riverside Dance Festival, the Arts Center at Governors Island, and the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council.
Pigeonwing Dance's residency and performance at Baruch Performing Arts Center are part of the CUNY Dance Initiative. Cultural, informational and visual arts presentations at Baruch College are made possible in part with funds allocated by the New York City Council.
